Shop at Foyles
Talk to a Londoner about books and there's a good chance an image will immediately spring to mind: Foyles' bookshop on Charing Cross Road. Once the epicentre of bookselling in the capital, Charing Cross Road became so famous for its new and used bookshops that the phenomenon was even brought to Hollywood in the famous film 84 Charing Cross Road, starring the dazzling pair of Anthony Hopkins and Anne Bancroft (and Judy Dench, of course!). When the film was made in the late 1980s, many bookshops in the area between Charing Cross Road and Shaftsbury Avenue were forced to close due to increased rental costs, but Foyles was still there, holding on to its mythical 119 Charing Cross Road location since the bookshop moved there in 1929.
In fact, the Foyles name has been connected with the book trade since 1904, when brothers Gilbert and William Foyle founded their first bookshop in Cecil Court, just across the street from Leicester Square tube station. Foyles remained in the Foyle family for more than a century and became a fixture in the trade, opening several branches across the city at various times. Nevertheless, Foyles remained a London-only business well into the 21st century. The first Foyles bookshop to open outside of London was in Bristol in 2011, followed by the New Street outlet in Birmingham. In 2014, Foyles moved two buildings away, retaining its iconic Charing Cross Road location but providing larger premises. The new flagship houses 200,000 books and has over four miles (4 miles!) of shelving. Since 2018, Foyles has been part of the Waterstones Group, with all seven Foyles branches retaining their identities, including of course the Charing Cross Road branch. Whatever you're looking for, you can be sure to find it at Foyles - and with a discount code at Foyles, you can get it even cheaper!

The order will then be passed to the web team for processing and a confirmation email will be sent to your registered email address. If you have signed up for Verified by Visa or Mastercard Securecode, you will go through an additional security check, but this will not affect the timing of the debit. Final payment is made when the goods are ready for dispatch or collection.
What payment options do I have at Foyles?

Can I change the details of my Foyles order or cancel it?
You have 14 days after the book arrives to cancel your order. However, if the book has already been dispatched, cancellation will include the return of the book and a refund to you. See the Returns and Refunds help page to find out how to return your order. If your order has not yet been dispatched, it may still be subject to change, so the sooner you contact them the better. It is recommended that you reply to the confirmation email you received to inform them of the changes you would like to make, so they can confirm if the changes are possible. Please note that there may be some time between the dispatch and invoicing and the dispatch notification. Therefore, the fact that you have not yet received the email does not mean that a cancellation or change is possible at that time. If you have already been charged but the order has not yet been dispatched, a refund will be made using your original payment method. For Click & Collect items, they can intercept your order and make a refund. If the order has already been dispatched to you, you can still cancel - the refund will be made once the goods have arrived at Foyles.
Can I return a book from Foyles after I have received it?
If for any reason you are not satisfied with your items, you can return them within 30 days of receiving the dispatch or collection notification email, provided they are in a resalable condition.
